Alabama Republicans tighten rules for delegate selection
But what does the change really get at?
The Alabama Republican Party Executive Committee gathered this past Saturday morning, August 5, and among other things voted to make some changes to the delegate selection process for 2024. But (seemingly and somewhat) contrary to earlier reporting from Reuters that the state party may try to make it easier for candidates to qualify for (and be allocated) delegate slots in the presidential primary in the Yellowhammer state, the party instead trained its sights on the process for filling the delegate slots already allocated to candidates.1
