And other 2024 Primary Calendar and Rules Updates for May 17

In Invisible Primary: Visible over at FHQ earlier today, I had a look at the path forward in Iowa for scheduling the 2024 caucuses. Republicans in the Hawkeye state are potentially zeroing in on a mid-January date which was news but that was the clear and likely landing spot as far back as last December. And I was perhaps unfair in pushing back on Brianne Pfannenstiel’s description of the situation as a “complicated calendar fight.” While I stand by the resistance to the characterization, do not let that obscure the fact that this was a deeply reported and solid story packed with great details.
