But the latest swing state polling fodder from The New York Times and Siena one year ahead of the presidential election has had my inbox filling up over the last few days with queries about whether there is some rules-based, silver bullet path to replacing Biden atop the Democratic ticket; some loophole to exploit; some magic backdoor formula for accumulating delegates.
The answer is not difficult to divine, but such is the state of affairs with these not-all-that-uncommon fever dreams of the late invisible primary. What would a rules-based path to the Democratic nomination for some non-Biden look like?
