2024 Primary Calendar and Rules Updates for May 8 -- Missouri, New Jersey & Pennsylvania
As another week dawns, state legislative adjournment season is hitting its stride. Legislatures in 22 states have already ended their regular sessions and one of those — Maine — has started its first special session. Another four states will conclude sessions this week, but in only one of those — Missouri — is anything dealing with a presidential primary on the line.
Needless to say, that is a long way of saying that the pace for presidential primary movement is slowing down for the 2024 cycle. It is not that it does not exist — there are a number of active bills still out there — but any changes from here on out will occur in fits and starts with potentially longer intervals between them. Despite signs of a slow down, there continue to be some signs of change ahead.
