Look, let FHQ preface this by saying that what follows is an academic exercise. Kamala Harris, if things continue on the same trajectory they have been on since President Biden withdrew, will have enough pledged delegate support under the intent of the rules to allow automatic delegates — the so-called superdelegates — to participate in the virtual roll call vote that will decide the 2024 Democratic presidential nomination in early August.

The thing is, the intent of the rules and the rules as they exist now are not aligned.

Let me explain (on my way to answering the question posed at the outset).
