Delegates to the 2024 Republican National Convention in Milwaukee spent their afternoon session on the opening day of the gathering conducting the party business that often marks the first day. They adopted the reports of the Credentials Committee, formally seating the delegates, and the Rules Committee, cementing the baseline rules that will not only govern the 2024 national convention but the 2028 Republican presidential nomination process.1 Convention delegates also adopted the Platform Committee report in a voice vote that had comparatively more opposition (though far from a majority) than any of the votes that preceded it on the convention floor.
