2024 Democratic Delegate Selection Calendar

The calendar of events that will select delegates to fill slots allocated to candidates in the primaries and caucuses

Below is the calendar of primaries, caucuses, conventions and state Republican committee meetings that will select delegates to attend the 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago. More often than not, the actual people who fill delegate slots allocated to candidates in primaries and caucuses are selected in separate and subsequent processes. Contrary to the uniform manner in which the Democratic Party handles delegate allocation, there are a variety of ways in which Democratic parties at the state level deal with delegate selection.

Note that the map above can probably best be described as a work in progress. While many dates are set for these delegate selection events, in some cases, the various colors denote a range of dates or set of distinct dates into which, often, the various congressional district conventions/caucuses fit. There is some uncertainty as to where on the calendar — when — these events will specifically be. The map and the calendar below will be updated as information is made available and the scheduling becomes clearer. But as of now the map (and calendar of events) should be treated as depicting the dates on which delegates are selected or the dates by which they are selected within particular groupings, at-large, PLEO or congressional district.
